This self-paced, interactive, tutorial is designed to help you understand protein structure. Knowledge of protein structure is essential to your understanding of Structural Bioinformatics. It is designed for use with the jAMVLE application. To view the tutorial in jAMVLE, you will need to set the jAMVLE home page to point to this page (http://www.biomed.curtin.edu.au/biochem/tutorials/prottute/). Go to Edit->Preferences then choose the 'HTML Settings' tab. There you can set the jAMVLE home page.
This is an 'interactive' tutorial in that you click on links to take you to more detail, perform exercises, type in various commands and immediately see the effects of those commands in jAMVLE - our recently developed molecular visualisation program.
Please navigate through the tutorial by using the navigation bar on the bottom of each page. Please take the time to carefully go through this tutorial - it is an absolute requirement of your study for this unit!
We also hope that you will take some time to provide us with feedback on what you like, what you don't like, and what you would like to see in this tutorial. Please note that this is a work in progress, so we really do need your valuable feedback to help us design better tutorials for the future. You may submit your comments by email to Dr Steven Bottomley. Thank you! We hope you enjoy this tutorial!
