11.0 Small Irregular Tertiary Structure

 

As the name suggests there are no particular structural arrangements in this domain class. The most frequent feature found in some of the proteins with this domain is the preponderence of disulphide bonds relative to their small size.

Examples within this domain include: insulin (Figure 11.1), sea anemone toxin, snake toxin (Figure 11.2), Kringle domain (Figure 11.3), and EGF (Figure 11.4)
